Advice on Writing a Screenplay

Dramatica can be used to write anything, novels, comic books, documentaries, whatever. It just so happens that I focus the application of the theory on what I love most - movies (and the screenplays that get them started).
I like Andy Coughlan’s latest post about rewriting. Especially this part:
Books give you a narrative and invite you (with appropriate clues) to visualize the action.Films show you the action and invite you (with appropriate clues) to visualize the narrative.
What a fantastic way to think about writing a screenplay. Andy has admitted to using Dramatica in the past, so it’s interesting to read his take on writing (or in this case, rewriting). And yes, write the silent movie. In fact, that’s an even more interesting way to think of writing a screenplay, or of starting a project - writing the entire thing without one bit of dialogue…
